NFPA 220, Standard on Types of Building Construction, helps define the category of building construction dependent on the fire resistance and combustibility rating of structural elements. Get up to date with the most current and complete provisions outlined in the 2021 edition. NFPA 220 provides access to extracted material from Section 7.2 of NFPA 5000®, Building Construction and Safety Code®, featuring complete rating requirements for exterior walls, columns, floors, ceilings, and roof assemblies. The revised standard includes new sections from NFPA 5000 that address special provisions for two different varieties of Type IV construction as well as updates to referenced publications. Architects, engineers, AHJs, and others responsible for making construction classifications reference NFPA 220 for the rating criteria they need.
