Description of BS 9734:1978 1978This British Standard specifies the inspection requirements for pulse transformers for use in electronic equipment, at the full assessment level, released under the BS 9000 capability approval scheme. For the purposes of this standard a pulse transformer is a component that is essentially concerned with unidirectional pulses and the transfer of the energy and signals of these pulses from one section of a circuit to another. Whilst no specific dividing line is practicable, low power pulse transformers are regarded as transferring information and high power pulse transformers are regarded as transferring power. This standard includes a typical format for a customer’s detail specification (blank). The specification should be completed and agreed between the manufacturer and the customer in accordance with 2.6.1 of BS 9720. Ratings, characteristics and inspection requirements and typical format for a customer's detail specification (blank). This specification operates within the rules for capability approval.
