Description of BS 8560:2012+A1:2018 2018This British Standard gives recommendations for incorporating safe work at height into the design of buildings during the design process.
It gives recommendations for designers on working safely at height and how to take this into account throughout the design process with specific focus on the early strategic and conceptual stages. It also takes into account the requirements of those who are involved in construction, inspection, cleaning and maintenance. This British Standard does not give designers prescriptive solutions for work at height but does provide useful guidance to help them manage the process. It is for the design team to develop specific solutions for each individual project.
