Description of BS 5285:1975 1975This British Standard specifies the performance of and the corresponding methods of test for ventilating fans for nonindustrial use with impellers not exceeding 500 mm in diameter, driven by single-phase a.c. motors having a power consumption not exceeding 500 W including any associated regulators for use on single-phase a.c. circuits not exceeding 250 V. It covers the performance of ventilating fans for use in walls, windows, kitchens or for attachment to ducts etc. The standard also covers cooker hoods containing fans. Performance and corresponding methods of test for fans with impellers not exceeding 500 mm diameter, having a power consumption not exceeding 500 W, for use on single-phase a.c. circuits not exceeding 250 V.
