Description of BS 4346-1:1969 1969

1.1 This British Standard applies to injection moulded pipe fittings made from unplasticized polyvinyl chloride and of which one or more of joints is intended, for solvent welding to unplasticized polyvinyl chloride pressure pipes conforming to the dimensions of Table 1 of BS 35054) and Table 1 of BS 35065).

1.2 Fittings complying with this standard are suitable for potable water supplies in conjunction with pipe complying with BS 3505, and may also be used for industrial purposes in conjunction with pipe complying with BS 3506.



Material, dimensions, stress relief test, resistance to sulphuric acid, opacity, effect on water and hydraulic pressure tests. Methods of test in appendices together with a specification for solvent cements for use with injection moulded unplasticized PVC fittings for solvent welding.
