Reference numbers have been allocated to the fabrics listed, with the aim of assisting the non-technical purchaser in making a choice of fabric type for his known end-usage. Appendices are included to provide further assistance by recommending fabrics for fire service, local authority, constabulary and hospital use, and to give supplementary information for MoD contracts. This Part includes a cross-reference table giving the item names and descriptions, the MoD pattern numbers, the NATO stock numbers and fabric widths and additional details.
