Description of 19/30360835 DC 2019This international standard specifies the evaluation methods of characteristics such as pressure, flow rate, temperature and system stability of Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS), which are manufactured to use vaporized LNG or boil-off gas as fuel gas supply to the vessel's gas consumers. The main purpose of this standard is to evaluate the performance of the LNG FGSS: (1) prior to delivery or installation on board a ship, and (2) to assure the system characteristics are taken into account for the entire gas consumers during ship’s gas trial or sea trial. NOTE As a principle, LNG shall be used as medium to verify the performance of the LNG FGSS. However, it may not be practical to carry out the tests with LNG prior to installation on board a ship. Hence, medium other than LNG, such as liquefied nitrogen or other fluid colder than liquefied temperature of LNG, may be used in order to conduct the test as a reference to the performance of LNG FGSS.
