Description of ASTM-F366 2010ASTM F366 - 10Standard Specification for Fixation Pins and WiresActive Standard ASTM F366 | Developed by Subcommittee: F04.21 Book of Standards Volume: 13.01 ASTM F366Abstract This specification covers the material requirements and functional dimensions for fixation pins and wires. Factors such as bending strength, fatigue strength, break strength (Knowles type only), torsion strength, and ductility are considered important but the values and associated test methods for which have not been established yet. This abstract is a brief summary of the referenced standard. It is informational only and not an official part of the standard; the full text of the standard itself must be referred to for its use and application. ASTM does not give any warranty express or implied or make any representation that the contents of this abstract are accurate, complete or up to date. 1. Scope 1.1 This specification covers functional dimensions for fixation pins and wires. 1.2 In recognition of many broad and varied uses of such pins and wires, many options are included. A variety, but not necessarily all, of the options are illustrated in Figs. 1-3. 1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
