The tire covered by this specification is for use in evaluation of tire-pavement friction. The fabric shall be polyester body or carcass plies and fiber glass belt plies. Different tests shall be conducted in order to determine the following properties of tread compound: tensile sheet cure, modulus, specific gravity, tensile strength, elongation, and tire tread durometer. This abstract is a brief summary of the referenced standard. It is informational only and not an official part of the standard; the full text of the standard itself must be referred to for its use and application. Scope 1.1 This specification covers the general requirements for the standard rib tire for pavement skid-resistance testing.
