Description of ASTM-E346 1999

ASTM E346-99

Historical Standard: ASTM E346-99 Standard Test Method for Analysis of Methanol

SUPERSEDED (see Active link, below)

ASTM E346

1. Scope

1.1 These test methods cover chemical and physical tests for measuring the quality of methanol and appear in the following order: Purity of Reagents; Safety Precautions; Sampling; Acidity; Carbonizables; Color; Distillation Range; Permanganate Time; Specific Gravity; Water; Water Miscibility; Ethanol and; Acetone.

1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. Specific hazards statements are given in Sections 5 and 15 and in Notes 3, 4, and 19.

2. Referenced Documents (purchase separately) The documents listed below are referenced within the subject standard but are not provided as part of the standard.
