Content DescriptionPower usage effectiveness (PUEâ„¢), the industry-preferred metric for measuring infrastructure energy efficiency for data centers, is an end-user tool that helps boost energy efficiency in data center operations. This new book provides a high level of understanding of the concepts surrounding PUE, plus in-depth application knowledge and resources to those implementing, reporting, and analyzing data center metrics. It gives actionable information useful to a broad audience ranging from novice to expert in the IT industry, including C-suite executives, facility planners, facility operators, ITE manufacturers, HVAC&R manufacturers, consulting engineers, energy audit professionals, and end users. PUE was developed by The Green Grid Association, a nonprofit, open industry consortium of end users, policy makers, technology providers, facility architects, and utility companies working to improve the resource efficiency of information technology and data centers worldwide. Since its original publication in 2007, PUE has been globally adopted by the industry, and The Green Grid has continued to refine the metric measurement methodology with collaborative industry feedback. For this book, The Green Grid and ASHRAE TC 9.9 consolidated all their previously published material related to PUE and included new material as well. The content includes detailed information on procedures for calculating, reporting, and analyzing PUE measurements, plus quick references to other resources in print and online. For all who implement and report on data center energy use metrics, it is an essential guide. Keywords: PUE, Partial PUE, PUE Scalability, Data Center, Power Usage Effectiveness, IT Power, Facility Power, Reporting PUE, Calculating PUE, Energy, Power, Mixed-Use Facility, Data center energy efficiencyThis book also exists in the following packages...Subscription InformationMADCAD.com ASHRAE subscriptions are annual and access is concurrency based (number of people that can access the subscription at any given time).

About ASHRAEASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a building technology society with more than 50,000 members worldwide. The Society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality and sustainability within the industry. Through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow’s built environment today.
ASHRAE was formed as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers by the merger in 1959 of American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHAE) founded in 1894 and The American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE) founded in 1904.
