Content Description

Hygienic Public Restroom Design with WELL v2™, 2024
CEU: 0.1 | CEU Code: HA-EN-198401-0627

Now more than ever, public restrooms must provide users with a hygienic and safe experience that supports inclusivity, human health, and wellness. In this course, we explore how multistall public restrooms address users' concerns about hygiene, safety, privacy, and efficiency through partitions, touchless fixtures, hand dryers, and more. We also discuss fulfilling WELL Building Standard" v2 requirements by promoting public health and safety in restroom design.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify emerging trends in public restroom design and how multistall restrooms address users' concerns about privacy, efficiency, and hygiene.
  • Evaluate restroom partition materials and types to discover how material choices, as well as safe and accessible restroom design choices and accommodations, can help meet WELL v2 requirements for Materials, Community, and Water features.
  • Illustrate how touchless restroom fixtures reduce germ transmission while promoting water efficiency and how they can help meet WELL v2 requirements for supporting hygiene and water quality.
  • Demonstrate how warm-air hand dryers equipped with HEPA filters can encourage proper hand hygiene and help meet WELL v2 requirements for hygiene support.
