Faculty BIO

A global sales and operations executive, John Foley is a seasoned company leader with more than 30 years of management experience within the hospitality sector. Foley is currently vice president and general manager at Safemark, a prominent provider of safes for the global hospitality industry. Since joining the company in 2004, Foley has fortified Safemark's leadership within the hospitality security sector, taking the company's domestic market share from zero to 70 percent by leveraging his decades of industry experience with development, management companies, designers, procurement companies, and end user accounts to exceed customer needs and expectations.

In his current role, Foley oversees the global sales structure and operations for Safemark's full suite of products utilized by hospitality customers in more than 75 countries around the world. He specifically develops all aspects of the company's global direct sales function, leads all aspects of the company's distributor partners, and oversees key relationships with hospitality brands around the world. Foley's unique ability to forge and maintain valuable business relationships and stay ahead of changes and trends in a highly dynamic industry has made him an invaluable member of the company's executive management team. His efforts in streamlining operations while growing customer sales are backed by a proven track record of revenue growth, with $17 million in annual sales.

Through Foley's efforts in leading his sales team, Safemark received the Vendor Quality Award from the International Society of Hospitality Purchasers (ISHP) in 2016, a culmination of Foley's ability to inspire his team through commitment, dedication, and innovation. A native of Ireland, Foley attended the Regional Technical College of Mechanical Engineering, Cork, Ireland, before relocating to the US to begin his sales career in hotel security technology with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, formerly VingCard Elsafe. Over his 18-year tenure, Foley advanced through a number of sales and operations roles, ultimately serving as vice president of sales, leading the company's in-room safe and electronic door locks divisions.

Foley is an active member of a number of industry organizations, including the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), the International Society of Hospitality Purchasers (ISHP), and the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH).

A regional sales manager, Jeffrey Cohen is a seasoned company leader with more than 20 years of management experience within the hotel industry, providing expert assistance to designers, hotel developers, and purchasing companies on the right solution to secure hotel guests' valuables.
