NFPA 10
STANDARD FOR PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, 2010
Applies to the selection, installation, inspection, maintenance, and testing of portable extinguishing equipment, which are intended as a first line of defense to cope with fires of limited size. The fire protection requirements of this standard are general in nature and are not intended to abrogate the specific requirements of other NFPA standards for specific occupancies.

• Clarification of what Certification is and how it relates to performing service and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers
• More specific guidelines for the placement of extinguishers that reduce ambiguity
• New definitions for pressurized flammable liquid and clean agent extinguishers

NFPA 14
STANDARD FOR THE INSTALLATION OF STANDPIPE AND HOSE SYSTEMS, 2010
Covers the minimum requirements for the installation of standpipes and hose systems. The standard aims to provide a reasonable degree of protection for life and property from fire through installation requirements for standpipes and hose systems based on sound engineering principles, test data, and field experience.
The new 2010 edition includes important changes for system designers and installers for improved fire protection and fire safety.
What's New?
• New requirements permitting express mains supplying higher zone standpipes to be designed with pressures in excess of 350 psi (24 bar) in accordance with their materials listings or as approved by the AHJ.
• Clarified requirements regarding standpipe system zones
• New requirements concerning standpipe systems with risers that terminate at different floor levels

NFPA 211
STANDARD FOR CHIMNEYS, FIREPLACES, VENTS, AND SOLID FUEL–BURNING APPLIANCES, 2010
Applies to the design, installation, maintenance, and inspection of all chimneys, fireplaces, venting systems, and solid fuel–burning appliances. The standards covers removal of waste gases; the reduction of fire hazards associated with the construction and installation of chimneys, fireplaces, and venting systems for residential, commercial, and industrial appliances; and the installation of solid fuel–burning appliances.
What's New?
• Extensive revisions to and clarification of definitions
• Terminology for gas appliances is now consistent with NFPA 54 National Fuel Gas Code
• New minimum requirements for opening for rain caps and spacing of electrical wire from dryer vents

CODE FOR THE PROTECTION OF CULTURAL RESOURCE PROPERTIES - MUSEUMS, LIBRARIES, AND PLACES OF WORSHIP, 2010
Prescribes minimum requirements for the protection of cultural resource properties (including, but not limited to, museums, libraries, and places of worship) and their contents and collections from conditions or physical situations with the potential to cause damage or loss through a comprehensive protection program.
The 2010 edition includes comprehensive revisions for increased security.

Describes principles and practices of fire safety for historic structures--and for those who operate, use, or visit them. The code prescribes minimum requirements for the protection of historic structures from fire through a comprehensive fire protection program, while protecting the elements, spaces, and features that make these structures historically or architecturally significant.
The 2010 edition improves the fire protection features in a wide range of historic buildings, and addresses ongoing operations as well as renovation, and restoration projects.
