These containers are designed to be carried by hand and are used to transport gasoline from points of distribution to points of use. This specification does not address any other labeling requirements, such as those set forth in Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) or other applicable regulations and standards. This abstract is a brief summary of the referenced standard. It is informational only and not an official part of the standard; the full text of the standard itself must be referred to for its use and application. ASTM does not give any warranty express or implied or make any representation that the contents of this abstract are accurate, complete or up to date. 1. Scope 1.1 This specification establishes nationally recognized requirements for the cautionary information to be placed on the label of portable gasoline containers for consumer use.
